This 1989 completely refitted Chris Craft Stinger 415 is located in the Rhode Island, Mass area.
The history of these boats is now part of boating lore. If you ever saw Miami Vice, you saw a Chris Craft Stinger. Each of these speedsters are part of the Chris Craft story and each probably has their own story to tell.
This 1989 Stinger 415, one of the last ever built is no exception. She has a story to be told.
The last owners have spent an enormous amount of time and money restoring The Protégé to her original glory, and it shows. Completely refit in 2009 with 502 engines with less than 60 hours on them, a new generator that was never used, A/C, full head with shower, refrigerator - even down to the absolutely beautiful red Brazilian hardwood cabin floor. This boat is a classic.
The Stingers were a popular line of boats for Murray Chris-Craft. Entire model-year production would sometimes be sold out on announcement for a particular model. The Stinger began showing up in popular culture as well. A 312 Stinger Fittipaldi version was featured in the movie Tequila Sunrise, where it sadly gets blown up in the end. The television show Miami Vice featured a [removed phone]X in the pilot episode, and [removed phone]X in the first season. As
many as 4 Stingers were used in the filming of Miami Vice.
